The Press Institute of Mongolia

Public Opinion Polls on Media Issues

The Press Institute has been assessing how the public views Mongolian media since its inception. For example, according to a survey conducted in 2015, 57% of citizens believed that media organizations and journalists follow the principles of ethical conduct. However, in 2017, this rating dropped to 49%. In 2019, a survey among high school students showed that about 40% of young adults had a critical attitude toward the news content in the media. Such research data produced on a regular basis offer valuable insights into how public opinion towards the media is changing over time.
